Battlefield 6has finally been officially revealed with a flashy new, Hollywood-esque trailer. Featuring the United States President (fictional), all-out war, a lot of grime and grit, this is the bestBFtrailer we’ve had sinceBattlefield 1dropped, and it’s not even close.

Though only two minutes long,Battlefield 6‘s reveal trailerhas a lot to show. A new, more serious tone and a look reminiscent of 2000s Hollywood war flicks dominate, while scenes of total urban annihilation give us a glimpse into what we can expect from its actual gameplay. The trailer indicates thatBattlefield 6will have a single-player campaign with war coming to the U.S. itself, as we can see clearly American cities and recognizable landmarks blown to smithereens.

And it also announced that multiplayer will be revealed on July 31, just a week ahead as of this article.

This heavily militarized and gritty Hollywood approach actually looks damn fine, like straight out of a Michael Bay movie. There is not an atom of the more lightheartedBattlefield Vnor of the futuristic, over-the-top2042, but mere guns, explosions, set pieces, and war. And, really, let’s not pretend likeBattlefieldever needed anything more.

Battlefieldhas been in a dicey (pun intended) position ever since2042came out. With changes to the game’s core formula that simply did not land well with players, the game faded into obscurity, revived every now and again by EA’s constant ultra low-price sales. This forced players to look even more into the past, playing decade-oldBattlefieldtitles just to feel that same level of epic war again.

Now, if this trailer is anything to go by, we’re going back straight into what madeBad Company 2and thematically similarBFgames popular—urban warfare on recognizable locations, planes, helicopters, tanks, deserts, and complete unfiltered chaos.
