Summer Games Fest is always a wild ride. With the event showcasing massive upcoming games, small indie gems sprinkled in the mix, and a few unexpected shadow drops to grab people’s attention, there’s no time like the present to get hyped for some games.
I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t be more confused yet hyped bySonic CrossWorlds. I mean, Hatsune Mikuand Minecraft? It may be a bizarre mix, but oh boy, it worked like a charm on me. I look forward to playing this before rewatching the latest Sonic movie series.
Of course, I also can’t forget aboutLego Voyagers. I’m a sucker for adorable games, and when my best friend immediately sent me the trailer for this, I was immediately hooked. It’s cute, it’s goofy, and it looks like just the type of game I need when I’ve had a stressful day and need to relax for a night. Of all theSGF announcementsthat came out, this was one of my personal favorites.
I have to mentionLies of P: Overture’ssudden launch on the same night as SGF’s stream. Although I’m not quite skillful enough at Soulslike games to have finishedLies of P, I’ve had a blast watching friends of mine play it, alongside their initial surprise with this shadow drop. At least I know I’ll have a fun weekend watching them play through this DLC.
Now, even though I don’t playResident Evil, hearing my friend group go wild overRE Requiemwas enough of a wild time to make me want to mention it. It’s visually one of the most stunning I’ve seen, and if I were a horror fan, I would have jumped on this in a heartbeat. One day, I’ll have the courage to try this.
