Outriders Broadcast starts May 28

The next game fromBulletstormdeveloper People Can Fly is going to be one of the first third-party titles on next-gen consoles. (And, possibly Square Enix’s first PS5 and Xbox Series X game?) Considering that’s six months away at most,we’ve seen very little ofOutriders.

That will change next week. On May 28, People Can Fly is kicking off a monthly series that’s dedicated to showing offOutridersgameplay and how everything works. The developer calls attention to “new areas, new enemies, new guns and gear, and all new features and details.” That should mostly cover all the bases.

Although we don’t know much aboutOutriders, it’s still very obvious that this is a game that wears its influences on its sleeves. So much from the art design to the menu interface seems like a shameless stab at attractingDestinyplayers. The chest-high walls littering the environment immediately draw comparisons toGears of War. (It’s worth remembering that People Can Fly madeGears of War: Judgment.) The endgame is divided into world tiers which is straight out ofThe Division 2.

It’s a big production though, so hopefullyOutridersdoes something unique to differentiate itself. Otherwise, it’ll just seem like a patchwork quilt of better games. The road to answering that question starts next week.
