“Post-nuclear Pittsburgh”

We’re getting a new update forFallout 76this very week (today actually!), but Bethesda is already looking to September with a new look at The Pitt update.

As part of the Summer of Gaming festivities, we got some extra footage at the update, which is now confirmed for September.

The Pitt update

Here’s a quick story primer:

“For the first time sinceFallout 3, players are invited to journey back to post-war Pittsburg – now a grim industrial wasteland crippled by conflict and awash with radiation. Expeditions: The Pitt introduces a new storyline centered around two warring factions: the blue-collar freedom fighters of the Union, and the power-hungry raider faction of the Fanatics.”

So the entire thing will be tied to expeditions, the public event-adjacent mechanic that was the focus of the Test Your Metal update today. We’ll also get more “tweaks and enhancements to the game,” including a tease for “adjusted gear for brand-new [players].” In addition to adding more content for endgame folks (level 50 or higher is recommended for The Pitt), we’re getting early game enhancements too. Seems smart!

Like every major free update forFallout 76this could invigorate lapsed players, but Bethesda seems to be putting extra effort into this one on that front.
