‘Spring 2020’

It was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, butElder Scrolls: Bladeswas finally given some semblance of a release window for Switch duringthe surprise Nintendo Direct Minithat I’m still reeling from.

Released in Early Access on mobile devices back in April of 2019,Bladeshas kind of just been chilling in the phantom zone without a release date. Eventually a potential 2019 window changed to a dry “2020,” but thanks to said Direct we now know thatBladesis arriving on Switch in “spring” of this year. Given that the Switch platform typically shies away from Early Access programs, it’ll likely be a full version of the game launching alongside of a huge update for the mobile edition. For reference, you can find the confirmationat 24:00in the Direct.

As a reminder, there aren’t plans to add touch controls for the Switch port right now (though motion is a go), and it will require an online connection. Hopefully Switch owners will just walk into a version of the game that’s less predatory,as strides have already been madeon that front on mobile.
