The glory of Demon Fang on high-end hardware
A classic entry in theTalesseries is getting new life on newer consoles.Tales of Symphonia Remasteredbrings the story of Lloyd, Colette, and company to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch in early 2023.
Revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct,Tales of Symphonia Remasteredbrings the GameCube-era RPG to modern systems. It will get a version on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S via their respective versions.
Tales of Symphoniaoriginally released in 2003 and was brought over to North America in 2004. The remaster will feature both graphical enhancements and improved gameplay, though no details have been given just yet.
Alongside a physical edition, Bandai Namco is also publishing a Chosen Edition ofTales of Symphonia Remastered. This will come with a special metal case, art prints, and stickers. Both editions are up for pre-order on theBandai Namco store here.

Tales of Symphoniais a fondly remembered entry in the long-runningTalesseries. It was likely the introduction to the series for many players, myself included. It’s definitely a lengthy role-playing game, but it has an incredible cast of characters and a really fantastic story.
Seeing anotherTalesgame get a modern port, much likeTales of Vesperiadida while back, is great. WhileTales of Ariselaid out a path forwardfor the series, I’m excited that newcomers will have an easy way of playingSymphoniatoo. Honestly, just keep this train rolling and dive back into some older entries while we’re at it. My fingers are now crossed thatAbyssis on a list somewhere atTalesHQ.
