It looks like the upcoming open-world FPSStalker 2: Heart of Chornobylis gettinganother delay. Originally scheduled to be released in 2022, the shooter now has a tentative release date of August 07, 2025. According to a video by developer GSC Game World announcing the release date, this is the “final” release date.
Detailing the decision, GSC indicated that thousands of players got the opportunity to playStalker 2for the first time during Gamescom 2023. After some playtests, GSC felt the game needed a little more time on the technical side of things. Originally the team was dedicated to releasingStalker 2in early 2024, but certain technical issues have popped up triggering the new delay.
It’s always a bummer when a game gets delayed, especially a highly anticipated one likeStalker 2. But with so much hype around this sequel, it’s certainly important for the team to get things just right. The developers have also hada myriad of challengesimpacting the development process, so it’s very understandable that the game has taken a bit longer than expected to release.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobylis now set to release on June 15, 2025 on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
