CoD Japanese publisher rep-resent, rep-resent
Fun fact I realized during my first Tokyo Game Show: Square Enix publishesCall of Dutyin Japan. Or at least did, until Sony ended up publishingBlack Ops IIIin Japan on PS3 and PS4 (Microsoft did the same on Xbox in Japan).
And whatever deal Sony brokered to make PlayStation the official console ofCall of Dutymeans it makes a weird kind of sense that Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia President Atsushi Morita challenged Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda inBlack Ops III.
Unfortunately, the new JapaneseCall of Dutypublisher was trounced by spurned Square Enix. The proceedings were live streamed on Nico Nico and uploaded byDual Shockers. The two execs lead their teams in the first two matches. Morita went 4/21 and 5/21, Matsuda went a slightly more admirable 6/19 and 13/21. The two then let their underlings play four more matches with Square taking three of four and one draw.
