I just woke up, Mark, don’t put me back to sleep

Sony did not do the best job of explaining all of the benefits of the PS4 Pro yesterday. We know itwon’t supportUHD Blu-Ray and that most games won’t be outputting in native4K resolution, but those details weren’t mentioned at the actual live stream event. Now it looks like we’ll have some better information.

This may just be an industry fluff piece, but getting PS4 lead architect Mark Cerny to explain the philosophy behind the PS4 Pro and learn more about the details of the system definitely clears things up. Apparently smoother framerates for older games is a thing that we can expect to happen. We keep hearing 4K resolution, so I’m not sure what Sony thinks that means.

Still, we get to hear Mark Cerny say, “4K TV penetration,” so this video is worth something.
