The legacy ofSkyrimis such that it feels as though there will never be a time when it’s not in the gaming limelight. I’m partly to blame for that, given all the articles I do aboutfan-made mods. But what can I say? The community does a lot of work to keepTES5‘s head above the water, improving on Bethesda’s original release. Oh hell, let’s talk about one more.

This one comes from Nexus Mods userEnneal(as spotted byDSO Gaming), and is for those who like a little sea travel with their (specifically Special Edition of)Skyrim. The “Functional Ships” download essentially adds point-to-point travel between the game’s ports via the use of ships.

The video above gives a brief idea of what you can expect, with the mod even allowing you to explore the inside of your vessel as it sails across the water. Enneal says it adds six new ships, though apparently not all of them include interiors.

It seems as though “Functional Ships” is best paired with other custom additions to the game, so it’s unlikely that it will work with the basic, vanilla version of the game. Still, if you’ve been playingThe Elder Scrolls 5for the last 12 years, chances are your version is modded to Oblivion (littleTEShumor there) already.

As for features, here’s what Enneal’s offering comes with:

Maybe one day I’ll stop talking aboutSkyrimmods. Today is clearly not that day. Onwards we go!
