According toGiant Bomb’s well-placed tipster, Electronic Arts/EA Sports is currently working on resurrecting Midway’sNFL Blitzseries.
EA Sports recently releasesNBA Jamremakes across all platforms, and reports had previously suggested EA picked up other Midway sports title, as well. CertainlyNFL Blitzwould fall into that category, but it may be awhile before we see anything concrete — the game is reportedly early in development, and we may not see it until 2012.
NBA Jamhas received plenty of buzz, with most reviews (including my own) pointing out that, yup, it’s definitelyNBA Jam; that’s not a bad thing by any means. WithBlitzseries creator Mark Turmell rumored to be serving as Senior Creative Director for EA’s update, fans of arade-style sports should have something to be excited about… even if it’s just a rumor.
