During its Tokyo Games Show presentation, Capcom noted that upcoming gothic horror titleResident Evil Villagecould potentially arrive on PS4 and Xbox One, alongside its PC and next-gen brethren.
“WhileResident Evil Villageis being developed specifically for next-generation consoles and PC, we’re looking into delivering the experience on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well,” said a Capcom producer during the stream. “We’re looking into it but we can’t make any promises, however we will do our best to bring a top-tier survival horror experience to current-generation consoles.”

Interestingly, Capcom rumour merchant DuskGolem – who has a track record of being accurate on all mattersResident Evil Village–has recently suggestedthat theREdevelopment team were encountering issues in the production of the new title, running into various technical snafus due to the infancy of PS5 and Xbox Series X hardware. It should be clearly clarified that this was merely a rumour, albeit one from a recognised source.
