It’s for the ‘Fidelity’ setting

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apartis a beautiful game, and now it’s about to get even prettier. As per Insomniac Games, there’s a new Ratchet and Clank 120hz mode that allows the game to push to 120hz if your TV allows it.

The gist is that this extra display mode is for the “fidelity” (visual oriented) graphics setting, which makes the game look as good as possible, sacrificing a bit of performance. That said, this patch allows people to bump up the framerate to 40 FPS in fidelity, provided that you can support 120hz.Ratchet and Clank120hz? I’ll take it.

There’s a few other quality of life upgrades, like new stickers, an opportunity to toggle “skip cutscenes” to the d-pad, and the chance to completely disable the level-up notification, which can decrease slowdown. Oh, and you can disable phantom dash (the game’s quick dash mechanic) visual effects for extra performance, too. This is on top of a ton of fixes, which you can view below,or on the official Insomniac support site.

Not thatRift Apartreally even needed tweaking, but Insomniac continues to deliver unprompted. They’re one of Sony’s best acquisitions in years, hands down.
