The release of theDawntrailexpansion forFinal Fantasy XIVis going to be a big one for fans. After all, it’s the first major expansion for the game sinceEndwalker, and that came out nearly three years ago in December 2021. WithDawntrailround the corner, though, you will need to putFinal Fantasy XIVdown for a bit since it’s going offline for maintenance this week.
According toa blog post from Square Enix, maintenance is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 26 at around 4 a.m. PDT / 7 a.m. EDT / 12 p.m. BST for the console versions, and on Thursday, June 27 at around 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT / 4 p.m. BST for the PC versions. As such,Final Fantasy 14will be completely unplayable. Ideally, this’ll only last until Friday, June 28 at 2 a.m. PDT / 5 a.m. EDT / 10 a.m. BST, but that’s still subject to change.
As a reminder, there will be an early access period forDawntrailas well as a couple of further patches that will add new content. Be sure to checkour maintenance schedulefor when these will arrive and what will be included in the patches. Otherwise, if you have any unfinished business inFinal Fantasy XIV, you’d better get it out of the way now before it goes offline. We also havesome suggestions for what you can do to best prepare forDawntrail, such as de-cluttering your inventory and leveling up an alt Job.
There is a lot to look forward to whenDawntraillaunches on July 2. Aside from a new continent to explore, there will be two new Job classes (including thealready popular Pictomancer), a new playable race, andFinal Fantasy XIV‘s first major graphics overhaul in over 10 years.
