If you’ve scoured the underground sewers of the Android Marketplace lately, maybe you recall seeing the gameWind-up Knightfloating around the list of Top Free Apps. In the month since its release on the Marketplace, the charmingly ambitious side-scrolling platformer has already garnered over a million downloads, and just yesterday made its grand debut on the App Store. The game is divided into books, or worlds, each with twelve levels and a bonus Knightmare stage that can only be unlocked by getting straight A’s on every level....

Remember when we shared the good news thatClub Nintendo would finally be coming to the US? We didn’t have many details about our version of the club at that time, but some new ones have come out of Nintendo recently. MTV Multiplayerhit up Nintendo’s VP of sales, Cammie Dunnaway, for details. She says that the service would be more like the Japanese version than the European one. “When you purchase a Nintendo product, you go on and you say that you’ve purchased a Nintendo product, you get points for that,” Dunaway said....

According toGiant Bomb’s well-placed tipster, Electronic Arts/EA Sports is currently working on resurrecting Midway’sNFL Blitzseries. EA Sports recently releasesNBA Jamremakes across all platforms, and reports had previously suggested EA picked up other Midway sports title, as well. CertainlyNFL Blitzwould fall into that category, but it may be awhile before we see anything concrete — the game is reportedly early in development, and we may not see it until 2012. NBA Jamhas received plenty of buzz, with most reviews (including my own) pointing out that, yup, it’s definitelyNBA Jam; that’s not a bad thing by any means....

Publishers overestimate their necessity Game developer Cliff Bleszinski has never been a fan of the used game market, and he’s made his feelings on the Xbox One and PS4 policies quite clear — he supports Microsoft’s decision to “redefine” the concept of videogame ownership, in a bid to protect the way videogames are currently made. “You cannot have game and marketing budgets this high while also having used and rental games existing,”he said....
