XBLA games on Xbox One will have 1,000 achievement points

This is good, I think It looks like the limit on Achievement points for Xbox Live Arcade games on the Xbox One will be rising to 1,000, instead of being only 400.On Twitter, PopCap Games tweeted thatPeggle 2will have a Gamerscore of 1,000, and the post forHalo: Spartan AssaultonXbox 360 Achievements, lists the game with 30 Achievements that are worth a total of 1,000 points. I’m not really a fan of Achievements, and the fact that they have scores disturbs me, but I can see how this is a good thing for the folks that care about their Gamerscore....

You should consider getting Desktop Dungeons at half price

Also, Binding of Isaac and Spec Ops My original intention was to inform you thatDesktop Dungeonsis $7.49 this week on Steam until Friday morning, and that you should play it because it’sreal good. Hard as hell, but good. That was until I noticed another game I’d wholly recommend,The Binding of Isaac, is on sale for $0.99 right now. Even with the greatly expandedBoI: Rebirthon the horizon, you’d do well to play the original version....

Yes, after a long stretch of Art Attacks, we’re finally back to featuring an amazing artist that loves to draw tig ol’ bitties! You’re welcome. Bayonetta 3 launches with a very small day one patch

It mostly deals with Naive Angel Mode and leaderboards ABayonetta 3patch has been released, just in time for the game’s launch on Friday. The good news? It’s short and sweet. So the first bit involves “Naive Angel Mode,” which, in the words of Platinum themselves, “lowers the amount of violence and sexual content.” Apparently the day one patch will apply this optional mode to “more scenes,” and it can be enabled immediately when starting the game (rather than on the chapter menu after the intro)....

Bethesda’s New Year’s Resolution? More Fallout 76 updates

2018: what a wild year for this game In the age of “we can fix it after we ship it,” it’s fascinating to watch a game grow into something else entirely. Some projects that were absolute failures at launch have become gems in the eyes of many, and althoughFallout 76is a long way away from that moniker (they’d have to completely overhaul the soullessness for one), Bethesda has been patching the game and attempting to avoid controversy along the way....

Bit Transmission episode 11 coming, also contest reminder

AXE. We’re going to record an episode of Bit Transmission this weekend. I can confirm that we will be talking aboutPuzzle Quest 2in some capacity. Also, I fully intend to force a discussion about sprite-based games getting “HD” visual upgrades, which should be no trouble at all. Should be a good show. If there’s anything you’d like us to talk about, mention it in the comments below. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, I also wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that we’re having a contest around our recently releasedBit Transmission Sprite Pack #1....

Bungie is completely overhauling faction rallies in Destiny 2

But will people care? In what is one of the slowest cycles for a AAA game in recent memory, Bungie is slowly chipping away at issues inDestiny 2. It hasn’t quite solved the content problem, given that the last two expansions were tiny and only introduced normal difficulty raid lairs (folks are already powering through the new one given that their item levels are raised), and I wouldn’t even say the studio is getting there, but there have been several improvements since launch....

Capcom shareholders vote not to block company sale

Holy corporate takeover, Mega Man! Capcom announced today thatits latest shareholder meetinghas resulted in an official end to the company’s buyout defense. Originally placed in 2008, the defense strategies were set in motion to defend Capcom from being acquired by any one person or entity trying to suddenly buy a majority stock. This doesn’t make Capcom completely defenseless in the event of a buyout, but it does mean Capcom no longer has the backing of shareholders should someone attempt to swoop in....

Cloud Gardens is a chill game about creating overgrown dioramas

From the developer of Kingdom KingdomandKingdom: New Landsdeveloper Noio is onto something special withCloud Gardens, a relaxing simulation game about planting seeds so nature can overtake “lo-fi scenes of urban decay.” I was on board with that one-sentence pitch, butCloud Gardensgoes deeper – there’s a bit of motivational structure for players who don’t just want to creatively unwind. Outside of a care-free sandbox mode, there are six “campaign”-like chapters “where the task is to strike a balance between nature and the manufactured by covering each scene with salvaged objects and lush vegetation....
