Steam gets its own music player

Built right in Listening to music while you’re playing games?Psssh. That kind of stings to think about as an aspiring videogame musician. But I get it. I’ve done it. Racing games have me reaching for my own music collection all the time, as do puzzle games. And if you want to be really cool you’ll listen to soundtracks from other videogames while playing games. Steam gets its own music player. It pulls from your collection on your hard drive as well as your Steam Soundtrack downloads....

This is what it costs to fix a broken Nintendo 2DS screen

Tragedy strikes close to home The Nintendo 2DS is a sturdy little piece of machinery. It eschews the gossamer hinges of its stereoscopic predecessor, and in their place vaunts a strong, unified, monolithic frame. Though abandoning the clamshell design makes the tartine-esque portable far less prone to snapping in two, the alteration invites a whole new array of potential concerns. Such a catastrophe befell a member of the Destructoid family this week when a young girl dropped her system down a flight of concrete stairs, resulting in a shattered screen....

Alternate Reality: Instant history

[For her monthly musing, Shodan takes another approach I didn’t even consider, and ponders the ‘reality’ of the cast of Heavy Rain, and how we know nothing about their actual backgrounds. AgainstHeavy Rain‘s realistic backdrop, the characters seem like they’ve been pulled out of nowhere and brought forward into real life, and that’s something Shodan is envious of. — JRo] I turned 25 last month. Had I any friends, I’m sure I’d have copped a lot of the unfunny quarter-of-a-century jibes, but what can I say?...
