Long live the CRT

Matthew Razak’s personal picks for the best movies of 2017

Yes, Star Wars is on there [Ed. Note: We do awards a bit different at Flixist. Most of our writers do not get early screenings or award screeners of movies, which means it isn’t easy to see some of the films that only get limited releases in December for many of us. As such we wait a few weeks into January so that we can see everything before we choose our favorites, and then vote in February for the site’s awards....

Maybe don’t watch this entire Dark Souls III DLC trailer

It gives a bit too much away toward the end You might already be down forAshes of Ariandel, the first oftwo add-onscoming toDark Souls III. If that’s the case, I’d say watch some — but not all! — of this trailer. It’s made up of a handful of largely unedited encounters in the frigid area, starting with more common enemies and culminating in some boss battles. I wish I would’ve stopped watching at 3:30 and left the rest for October’s launch....

No, Robert Pattinson isn’t in Clair Obscur Expedition 33, but another superhero is

At first glance, Gustave, the playable engineer, looks like Robert Pattinson—brooding stare, chiseled jaw, and undeniable skin-of-a-killer energy.
