The Nintendo Switch 2 is a little over two months away from launching with a full slate of first-party games, according to a new report. Tom Henderson ofInsider Gamingis reporting that the Switch 2, the successor to the massively impactful and successful Nintendo Switch, will be launching some time this June and include a “three-phase” strategy for game launches throughout 2025. Henderson says that the Switch 2’s launch window will be filled with “primarily first-party games,” meaning potential games and characters like Mario, Donkey Kong, Pokémon, and the like....

Previously, Digital Extremesoffered us a teaserfor its four-player, cooperative, third-person shooter that so happens to be free to play. It’s calledWarframe, which isn’t a terribly exciting name, but I’m looking forward to seeing more. This new trailer gives a quick glimpse of alpha gameplay footage. Conceptually, this all seems rather promising. It’ll ultimately come down to whether or not the slicing and gunplay are both enjoyable, though knowing who’s responsible for development has me feeling pretty good about that....

‘We love making free-to-play games’ Originally announced as just “Paladins,” Hi-Rez’s free-to-play team-based shooterPaladins: Champions of the Realmis set to have card collection and a sort of deck-building aspect. Details were scant during the announcement, but the video below sheds a bit of light on it. It sounds more like a collectible card game than adeck-building game, as players collect cards and create decks outside of a match only to draw and play them during a battle for various buffs....

Today marks the official release ofRedfall’s last update, which brings the game to a sad and premature end. Redfalldidn’t really impresswhen it dropped earlier this year, but for those few gamers who are still hanging on, this new update actually does provide some exciting features. Arkane has added a “Community Standing” system that lets you progress through six different ranks of various buffs by completing missions, unlocking Safehouses, and saving citizens....

Sony’s launched a new video promoting the PlayStation 4’s interface, specifically showing off the ability to pause one’s game to check out shared videos and the PlayStation Store. You can hold your game, go start a download, and resume play. Neat. The other interesting bit of information is the ability to download games in parts, rather than all at once. The handsome gamer in the video, who I’ve decided to name Chase Glistener, is given a choice to download the single-player and multiplayer aspects ofKillzone: Shadow Fallseparately, so he can more swiftly jump into a game with his online friend, Romulus Salamander....
