Your Exosuit inNo Man’s Skyis a crucial companion. Not only does it provide you with life support and protection against the extreme temperatures you find on planets, but it also acts as your primary inventory to carry your resources and items.

Given its importance, upgrading your Exosuit has to be at the top of your priority list. Prioritising Exosuit inventory slots early on in the game is a smart choice, but eventually, you should also unlock Exosuit tech slots to improve your shields, life support, jetpack, sprint, and various protection technologies.

Where to get Exosuit tech slots in No Man’s Sky

There are different ways to upgrade your Exosuit tech slots inNo Man’s Sky. One of the easiest ways is to visit a Space Station and interact with an Exosuit pod. You’ll find it next to the NPC who sells Exosuit upgrades. Interact with the pod to purchase a slot, which would cost 10,000 units in the beginning. The price increases by 10,000 units after each upgrade.

You can only get one slot upgrade from an Exosuit pod at a Space Station. So, you need to visit a new Space Station for each upgrade.

The Exosuit pod offers an inventory slot by default when you choose to unlock a slot. While it may sound silly, this is a legit reason for many (including myself) players who have unlocked a lot of inventory slots, but not tech slots in their Exosuit. To unlock a tech slot in your Exosuit, you can simply click on an eligible technology slot instead before purchasing the Exosuit upgrade.

Players can also upgrade their Exosuit for free inNo Man’s Sky. you’re able to do this by obtaining an Exosuit Upgrade Chart. These are rare planetary charts which reveal the location of a Drop Pod on a planet. When you reach the location of a Drop Pod, you have to make minor fixes which require common items such as Carbon Nanotubes. Once the Drop Pod is fixed, it can be used to get one free Exosuit slot upgrade.

Exosuit Upgrade Charts can be purchased from Cartographers on Space Stations, and from NPCs at trading posts. These charts are also available as a reward sometimes for completing Mission Board, and Nexus missions.
