Also, Ninja Gaiden II on the VC
It’s kind of a weird day for the Wii U, as it’s getting adecent amount of old games in the form ofStreet Fighter—Street Fighter II: The World Warrior,Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, andSuper Street Fighter II: The New Challengersare all available on the Virtual Console for $7.99. If you buy one, you can get the others for 50% off until August 29th.
For the uninitiated,World Warrioris the original SNES release —Hyper Fightingis the follow-up that jacked up the speed and some character movesets — andThe New Challengersadded four new characters (T. Hawk, Cammy, Fei Long, and Dee Jay) plus some reworks
There’s a ton of opinions as to what the best version ofStreet Fighter IIis, so do some research if you’re only going to get one. I’m partial toThe New Challengersif you’re choosing solely from the aforementioned three, but I likeSuper Street Fighter II Turbo(the first game with Akuma) a lot more.
As for the 3DS, the eShop is gettingWakedas,Funfair Party Games,Fish On 3D, andNinja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos(VC). Retail download wise,Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last RewardandPhineas and Ferb: Quest for Cool Stuffare available.
Ubisoft is also having a 30% off sale until August 27th forRayman Origins,Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars 3D,Rayman 3D,Petz Fantasy 3D,Splinter Cell 3D, andRabbids 3D. As you can tell, a lot of these were created at the portable’s launch when putting “3D” into everything was super cool.
If you missed last week’s installment, here it is.
As for what I’m getting, I’m a big fan ofThe New Challengers, so I may get that for the millionth time.
