Co-starring Michael Douglas

Hey, do you not live in China but still want to watch the bonkersAnimal World? Well, you’re in luck, because Netflix just acquired its international rights. Everywhere outside of China is due to get this dose of clown-boy LSD on the world’s streaming service of birthright.

There’s no date for when the movie is going to drop for international folks, but I’m pretty excited since it looks like it should rank high on the ridiculousness scale. We got a teen lured into a deadly game of wits against Micheal Douglas, who pulls his weight as what is sure to be a scenery-chewing villain. The boy seems to magically turn into a clown, and when he kills things, they bleed whatever magic goo is inside a Gusher. It makes me feel nostalgic and hungry and like I need a little bit of this movie in my veins.

Honestly, if the boy transformed into a giant piece of fruit instead of a clown,Animal Worldcould be one giant, big-budget Gushers commercial, itself. I’ve included a video for reference.

Animal Worldis based on the mangaUltimate Survivor Kaiji, which already has film adaptations in Japan, so if you want to know more about the story beforehand, there should be something already available.

If you do happen to live in China, though, then you can experience this weirdness when it hits cinemas in the country on June 29.
