Roughly a year and a half after its launch, Namco is ending its free-to-play PlayStation 3 experimentSoulcalibur: Lost Swords. It was apparently not great and coupled with a bad microtransaction scheme.
Namco even made a real fucking sad trailer about the service ending.
Just about 2 million downloaded the fighting game, which will cease sale of certain in-game items on September 30 and the rest October 27. You know, in case you want to spend money on a game that’s being shut down on November 30?
I wonder if Namco has plans to follow up on 2012’sSoulCalibur 5at some point or if it’s all white flag waving towardsTekken 7, Street Fighter V, Mortal Kombat Xet al.
