Scorpion vs Skeletor ain’t happening
According to the Hollywood newshounds atDeadline, Warner Bros. new cinematic adaptation ofMortal Kombathas been bumped up the schedule a few months, and will now arrive in theatres January 2021.
While there is no reason given for the schedule change – one of many that has been made on Warner Bros. cinematic calendar – this does mean that this newMKmovie will no longer be going head-to-head with Sony’sMasters of the Universemovie, which is also scheduled for release on March 5.
TheMortal Kombatmovie, which begins shooting in Australia in early 2020, has been drip-feeding its cast of characters in recent months. Already confirmed for the R-rated flick areRaiden,Sub-Zero,Scorpion,Liu Kang,Kano, Sonya,Jax, Mileenaand boss manShang Tsung. Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have celebrated the film’s varied cast of international actors and martial art experts.
Mortal Kombatis now scheduled to release in theatres June 26, 2025.
