The second instance of a retailer-exclusive amiibo has been revealed — Meta Knight from theKirbyfranchise, and it’ll only be sold at Best Buy. According toBest Buy’s corporate site, it’ll debut in early 2015.
Shulk fromXenoblade Chronicleswas the first amiibo announced as exclusive to a particular store;GameStop has the rightsto that figurine. It’s a trend that’ll most likely be prominent, especially if the popularity of amiibo takes off as Nintendo seemingly expects it to. At least prospective collectors can take solace in knowing that there areplenty of amiibo dealsout there lighten the financial strain.
