Summer 2025 is sure to be a hot one. And I’m not just talking about global warming or rising temperatures.

For the first time in 30 years, Marvel Comics yesterday announced the return of itsSwimsuit Specialcomic, and within the news, also revealed that popular hero shooter gameMarvel Rivalswill be getting special swimsuit costumes to celebrate the issue’s launch this July.

Along with an overarching story centered around “Earth’s mightiest fashion designer, Janet Van Dyne, aka the Wasp,” Marvel confirmed that “the issue will also include designs for new costumes coming soon toMarvel Rivals, the mega popular multiplayer video game from Marvel Games and NetEase Games.”

And so, if you haven’t bought stock inMarvel Rivals’popularity yet, just wait until heroes like Spider-Man, Black Widow, Emma Frost, Iron Man, Squirrel Girl, and others are parading around their battlefield in scantily-clad outfits made for diving into cold waters when the heat rises.

“Primarily an artist showcase,Marvel Swimsuit Specialpresented pinups from the industry’s top talents in a magazine-style format, complete with tongue-in-cheek articles and descriptions,” Marvel said in the announcement. “Each year, a light-hearted plot brought the heroes to a different setting, from the jungles of the Savage Land to the shores of Monster Island.”

The potential for some outrageous, salacious outfits is high. Marvel already boasts some sexy character costumes, most notably the viral Emma Frost and her muscular thighs, or Namor’s MCU skin, which does not leave much to the imagination. There are several costumes that show lots of superhero skin already, but this comic collab could really blow the doors off.
