Internally developed engine powering Ground Zeroes to be detailed

This Game Developers Conference is shaping up to be a rather exciting one, and this latest bit of news only serves to amp that up further. In a session at this year’s show entitled,  “Photorealism through the eyes of a ‘Fox’ – The core of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes’ (Presented by Kojima Productions),” Hideo Kojima and his team will provide the first in-depth demonstration of the FOX Engine, which has been in development for the last several years.

Aspects of the engine which are announced to be shown in demonstrations include the lighting system, environmental changes, character realism and the engine’s tools. So, like much of the session content at GDC, it might be a bit too “inside baseball” for many of us to really appreciate, but I’m sure there will be some very excited people coming out of this little event nonetheless.
