Removing the ‘Stolen’ tag from Starfield items

Starfield‘s Trade Authority is, as it turns out, a bit of a launderer. As some of the casual dialogue heard from New Atlantis NPCs might’ve suggested, the Trade Authority has gotten a bit of infamy for allegedly trading in stolen goods. Though this hasn’t been outright proven in-universe, from the looks of it, the game mechanics confirm as much. Notably, you’re able to use the Trade Authority kiosks available next to every major spaceport to sell your stolen goodies and then repurchase them for the same price – thoroughly laundered.

This works wonders for those who wish tomanage theirStarfieldinventoriesso that their ill-gotten goodies are not confiscated somewhere along the way. Getting flagged for contraband by one of the governments inStarfieldmeans you risk losing everything you’ve stolen along the way. Simply laundering items at the closest Trade Authority kiosk is, instead, a fool-proof way of removing that possibility from the docket!
