An ingredient used in many of the game’s most vital gadgets, in particular the teleporters, knowing how to acquire large amounts of Wild Honey is a must for all looking to make it big inSlime Rancher.
But how can you do that? And is it even possible to get this ingredient in the early game? Here’s how to get and farm Wild Honey inSlime Rancher.
How to get Wild Honey in Slime Rancher
you may only get Wild Honey in Slime Rancher by using an apiary in The Moss Blanket biome. Keep in mind that this ingredient is a rare resource. This means that, although you will be able to get it early on with the Novice Apiary, you will need to wait until you have unlocked the Advanced version of the extractor to farm it efficiently.
How to unlock and use the Apiary
You can unlock the Novice Apiary inSlime Rancherby purchasing its schematic at the Builder’s Shop in The Lab for 500 Gold Coins before building it in exchange for 10x Pink Plort, 6x Phosphor Plort, and 3x Honey Plort. After getting the extractor, you can use it to get Wild Honey by pressing T and then installing it at any of the place sites scattered across the biome.
Keep in mind that the Novice Apiary will only last for one use and will self-destruct once you harvest the materials it acquired. So that you can build the extractor continuously, I recommend having a few Pink Phosphor Largo Slimes and regular or Largo Honey Slimes in your ranch. Although the Pink and Phosphor Slimes can be found at the Far, Far Range, you will only be able to find Honey Slimes within The Moss Blanket biome.
How to unlock The Moss Blanket in Slime Rancher
If you have yet to unlock the biome, you can open a path to The Moss Blanket inSlime Rancherby going through the gate highlighted in the image below, which can be found in the northwestmost portion of the Far, Far, Range. Like most regular gates, you will need to expend a Slime Key to open it. You will be able to get the key by feeding a Gordo Slime until it explodes.
For those looking to find a Gordo Slime early on, the easiest one to find and feed will be the Pink Gordo, located on the small island at the center of the Far, Far, Range. Like the regular Pink Slimes, the Gordo will accept any type of food, so just grab a few carrots or fruits and then feed it until it explodes and gives you the key.
