Your shield is definitely in this castle
I can’t complete my classic Link cosplay without a Hylian Shield! While I was able to get Link’s green garb using amiibo, the Hylian Shield is slightly elusive: depending on your penchant for danger. Here’s where to find it inTears of the Kingdom.
You’ll find the Hylian Shield in Hyrule Castle, on a lower-level dock
The Hylian Shield is once again deepwithin the confines of Hyrule Castle: technically below it in Hyrule Field.
To get to the docks, descend from the main Hyrule Castle platform and enter the archway in the northwest corner of the area where the shield is kept. One of the easiest ways to get enough glider height to actually find it on your first go is to drop directly from the sanctum throne room. The exact location of the easy-access entrance to the docks can be found in the gallery above.
You can even drop downfrom the Serutabomac Shrinedirectly above it: and then teleport back if you missed the entrance.
Once you’re in the docks area, run up the stairsand either fight or ignore the enemies there, then continue running up the ramp until you get to a landing. See the torches there? You need to light the big bonfire with any fire effect (if you’re here, you likely have the Goron Champion/Sage ability): including a Fire Fruit arrow or a torch.
Once it’s lit, the chest for the Hylian Shield will appear. Congrats!It’s the strongest shield we’ve found so far in the game, clocking in at a 90 defense rating.
