Given that it’sofficially the fastest-selling PlayStation gameevermade, you’d expectHelldivers 2‘s content updates to continue dropping in at a blistering pace. This is no longer the case, however, as Arrowhead Games hasslowed the updating cadence way downahead of the hotly anticipated spawn rate fix.
“You’ve probably noticed we’ve slowed our cadence of patches,” said Arrowhead Games on Twitter. “Similar to our future approach to Warbonds, this is so we can dedicate more time to each patch to reduce the pressure on our teams, dig into your feedback more, and deliver higher-quality patches.” The wait, thankfully, is almost over, as the big update is dropping in alongsidethe new Viper Commandos Premium Warbond.

Helldivers 2 fixes its biggest outstanding issues on June 13
This jots downHelldivers 2‘s spawn fix update for release on June 13, or just two days from the publication of this article. Beingthe questionably efficient soloHelldivers 2player that I am, it’s obvious that my biggest concern is whether the spawn rates are reverted to their previous proper state, but I’m equally thrilled with some of the other improvements slated for this update.
As per Arrowhead Games’ post on Twitter, we’re looking at over 100 total changes and fixes, with some of the most notable tweaks (aside from the spawn rates) being the visibility of in-game military supply lines and attack origins, the introduction of invite-only fireteam lobbies, Super Samples being available from level 6 onwards, and heaps more. Good stuff all around, no two ways about it.
“We’re very aware that going from quick, small patches to slower, bigger patches means [the community’s] expectations are higher,”Arrowhead says. “While we think the next patch is strong, with lots of bug fixes & requested features, we’re definitely not resting on our laurels or being complacent.”
The visibility of supply lines and attack vectors, in particular, is a surprising but most welcome addition.Helldivers 2is filled to the brim with extremely deep but intentionally obtuse features and mechanics that have only been revealing themselves to the players as they engaged with the game. Opening up more of this information to the end user is bound to be a good thing, and the only thing that remains to be seen is exactlyhowArrowhead Games has chosen to organize it all in the UI.
There’s one more thing to keep in mind as the next major update drops in: the Illuminate faction is seemingly looming closer than ever. Hints are dropping inleftandright, andMeridia’s already been turned into a decidedly strange black holeas part of a recent combat operation.Patch notes aren’t the be-all-end-all for Arrowhead Games, after all.
