Does Battle Royale hold the key?
Epic Game’s developers of upcoming team-shooterFortnite,have proudly announced that the base-building/arena hybrid has been played by seven million trigger-happy gamers.
The announcement is accompanied by the logo of the title’s recent Battle Royale mode update, but it is unclear whether this mode has specifically brought in the masses. Epic came under fire recently from developers Bluehole Inc, claiming that the former had ripped off the successful idea from their PC shooterPlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Epic have also released details ofFortnite’slatest update, which will see supply drops return to the game, minus their former technical issues. There is also a new mode, “Duos”, which will allow two players to tag up and take on the world, like Bimmy and Jimmy.
Fortniteis currently in Early Access and will be officially released in 2018.
