Details on this sequel are scarce, but Triumph will continue the traditions of turn-based battles, an explorable world, play-by-email mode (!), and user creation tools. New races, upgrades, and campagins will be added as DLC. Triumph is making an effort to give players more options in building an empire, by combining various elements of factions together.

“For example: as a Goblin Theocrat you can build your own holy empire, recruit little goblin crusaders or cute winged goblin angels equipped with flaming weapons, and wage war on your heathen enemies,” lead designer Lennart Sas said, in a press release. “We want players to be able to choose between lots of different play styles, without being restricted by fantasy clichés, like All Goblins Are Evil.”

The series has earned favorable comparisons toHeroes of Might & MagicandMaster of Magic, over the years. Its unique blend of genres and fantasy setting produced a cult following that hasn’t had a title like it to latch onto, in a long while.
