This weekend saw the U.S. fight it out in the final Splatfest of 2017. Completely dropping the ball on doing the obvious “Naughty vs Nice” topic, Nintendo’s arena-shooter asked its fans which was the best-worst gift you could find under your Christmas tree: Sweaters or Socks.
In a straight 3 – 0 victory, Pearl’s Team Sweater took not only the public vote, but also TeamandSolo play, rounding off a year of success for the Queen of the World. To be fair, this outcome was pretty obvious, as Christmas sweaters are all the ironic-hipster rage right now, and have been for a few years.
Either way, this brings 2017’s round of Splatfests to an end. We’ve fought overfictional media,super-powers,McDonald’s sides,winter-wear,lemons,toilet-rolland many other fine, first-world problems. May it continue long into 2018, as Pearl’s reign of adorable terror continues.
