Pokemon meets Puzzle Bobble

Indie game developerMr. Podunkianhas a new project in the works that melds some of the best elements ofPokémonandPuzzle Bobble. I know what you’re saying: “go on…”

The ideas are combined in the form of a puzzle game, which features three creatures per side, and allows players to not only play a “matching” clone, but choose abilities from different monsters to change the outcome. Essentially, it’s part RPG as well.

You can see the heavyPokémonreferences in the character designs, the element choices, and the battle text at the top of the screen. Right now, it looks like this is set for a potential indie PC release somewhere down the line, but Podunkian notes that he is developing it in Unity, so a mobile releaseispossible. Bring it on!
