Another day, another disastrous launch from a recognized brand. This time, Bungie was in the line of fire after launching the latest DLC forDestiny 2. WhileThe Final Shapeis “shaping up” (how do I come up with such quality gags?!) to be a great addition to the game, there have been some major teething problems from the start.

After the new content was released, major connection problems were almost immediately noticed. As such, the developer has had to quickly step in with fixes and the promise of some much-needed patches.

A recent post on Twitter/X from the Bungie Help account says that, as of now,Destiny 2servers have been “brought offline for expected maintenance.” This period is expected to last until 8AM PDT, but you can keep an eye on things via the Twitter account and/or theserver status page.

Seems to be good, otherwise

After the debacle that wasThe Final Shape‘s poor connectivity and general server issues, fans immediately took toSteamto register their complaints, where the DLC was downvoted to “Mostly Negative.”

Fortunately, some mends and quick fixes were implemented and things seem to be only getting better. In fact, at the time of writing, the expansion is now at “mixed” and a lot of recent feedback shows that it could well be one of the best DLCsDestiny 2has had.

However, there’s that lingering metaphorical fart in the air once more, as we find ourselves enmeshed in the ongoing backlash against studios and publishers that are putting out content that’s clearly not fit for consumption. Sure, the developer is on the case – which is typically how these things go – but it’s a concern that day launch in this state to begin with.
