1.0.5

Bethesda is rolling out the fifth major patch forFallout 76, which was released just several months ago on July 02, 2025. Known as patch 1.0.5 (with several variations beyond that for all three different platforms), it’ll run you 3.5GB on consoles and 500MB on PC.

As usual there’s a lot of fluff to sift through (on top of the always-beloved extra performance and stability, a Nintendo staple), but the main takeaway involves weight, which is now capped to an “absolute limit” of 1,500 pounds over your maximum carry value. This is a hard stop: anything over that limit isn’t allowed, as Bethesda notes that it “exists primarily to keep the servers from performing poorly when there are too many items in the game world.” That’s a yikes from me, dog, when the stash limit remains the same.

Outside of other balance changes mostly dealing with explosives, over half the patch deals with bug fixes. Which, introduced more bugs. Launching an online-centric multiplayer game is tough! In this case, perhaps too tough. As I’ve said several times before I wish we had gottenFallout 5in West Virginia at some point instead.
