Gaming’s recent run-ins with payment processors set a dangerous precedent

Following Steam’s purge of NSFW games at the behest of payment processors (Visa and Mastercard), itch.io has also been targeted and forced to cull any and all NSFW-labeled games from its platform. Though the games targeted could be argued against on moral grounds, it is no right of payment processors to police speech and force their own “ethics.” A few days ago, Steam was forced to pull the plug on a large number of NSFW games, primarily those containing certain darker and, arguably, immoral themes and scenes which I won’t directly name (thanks Wccftech)....

How to win friends and influence people in DayZ

There seem to be two kinds of people in DayZ: Friendly and alive DayZis a lot of things to a lot of different people. For some, it’s a chance to test their mettle against an overtly hostile world that would like nothing better than to see them die cold, hungry and alone. For others, it’s a virtual playground for unleashing their inner troll; killing on site for nothing more than a chuckle, or torturing other players simply because there is no one to stop them....

I’m not entirely sure what Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is supposed to be anymore

Good will burning Animal Crossingon mobile seemed like a sure bet when Nintendo announced it. The title would serve as the third game in the company’s mobile pillar. The series has a massive casual fan base that can be quite obsessive about it and I thought, even as a free-to-play title, it would be easy for Nintendo to tap into that fertile vein the way it did withFire Emblem Heroes. And yet,Animal Crossing: Pocket Campnever really took off....
