Ground zero As much as wish it weren’t true, it is: I’ve never completed aMetal Gear Soliduntil now. This is a series plenty of you adore playing, thinking, and talking about and that affection has rubbed off on me over the years. It’s difficult to talk yourself into such an undertaking, even if you know it’s for your own good, that starting is the hardest part....

He knows his time is short, but he manages to warn you about it so that you may live on....

There are explanations for games that ship with downloadable content already included. There are, however, no excuses. While you may have a reason, you do not have validation, because on-disc DLC is a problem willingly created by the industry, and it doesn’t have to exist in the first place. You cannot justify a problem arranged by design, no matter how much you try and pretend it’s out of your hands....

It’s about time! It’s been three years, but one of my favorite mobile strategy titles,Legendary Wars, has finally come to Android,via the Google Play Store. In this RTS-RPG hybrid you directly control an ever growing army of knights, wizards, archers, and mythical beasts (love the unicorns with rainbows shooting out their arses) as they do battle amongst many nefarious nasties. Packed with over 70 levels,Legendary Warsis also home to a bevy of bonus modes and minigames that keeps the action constantly fresh when you need a little break from the the game’s main tower-defense mode....

I’m somewhat torn onMetroid: Other M. On the one hand, I love a good action/adventure game and I love my Wii. On the other hand, theMetroidseries has never appealed to me for some reason. In both platformer and first-person-shooter form, I have never been able to enjoy the franchise and I don’t know why. So, I have no idea if I’ll be buyingOther Mor not. Still, at least there’s a massive amount of screens in this gallery to help the decision along....

The Xbox Games Showcase starts at 9AM PT The recent Xbox Series X game showcase came and went, and a lot of people were disappointed that it didn’t show enough gameplay. This time around Microsoft is raring up to remedy that mishap with their July “Xbox Games Showcase,” and now we have a firm date and time: July 23 at 9AM PT. Before all that happens we’re getting a pre-show with Geoff Keighley at 8AM PT, so you can tune in early if that’s your thing....

You can pet the mouse! As much as I love virtual-reality horror, it’ll be nice to have another PlayStation VR game that doesn’t put me on edge. Next on the docket isMoss, an action-adventure title starring an adorable mouse named Quill. It releases this month, and just ahead of launch, Sony has demoed the game. This 14-minute video is our best look atMossto date, showing off a bit of the miniature world, some combat, puzzle solving, and Quill being super cute....

In development at BioWare Montreal BioWare Montreal studio director Yanick Royhas sharedsome information on the nextMass Effectgame which he says “will be very respectful of the heritage built over the course of the first three games” and built with the Frostbite 2 engine used forBattlefield 3. Roy continues: “… we are exploring new directions, both on the gameplay and story fronts. You can still expect the pillars the franchise is known for to be fully intact though, including diverse alien races, a huge galaxy to explore, and of course rich, cinematic storytelling....

Sometimes it’s hard to imagine thatNo Man’s Skycame out seven years ago!
