Killer is Dead artwork looks all Japanese and futuristic

We’re yet to see any actual shred of a game, butKiller is Deadhas some new artwork that ought to give a bit of a clue as to the game’s aesthetic. It’s very Japanese, and it’s very futuristic. Think, odd-shaped buildings next to blossom trees, and you get the idea. I’m always excited for any Grasshopper game, because Grasshopper makes games I like to play. It’s a good system I have. Really looking forward to seeing where this mysterious project goes....

Metal Slug teams up with The Battle Cats

Remember Metal Slug? My experience withMetal Slug Defenseis watching former Destructoid writer Jim Sterlingsuffer throughits free-to-play trappings for a video. My experience withThe Battle Cats, a similar strategy game about overwhelming your opponent’s base, is playing it on and off for a day and forgetting it was even on my phone until just now. (Though I do still love the design of thatleggy cat.) The two properties are collaborating for a limited-time event insideThe Battle Cats....

Nobody is using their words to work out their differences in For Honor’s launch trailer

Sticks and stones and swords Ubisoft’sFor Honorreleases on Valentine’s Day, which is a day for lovers and not for fighters. Good luck explaining that to these samurais, vikings, and knights. All these testosteroned-up macho men won’t stop trying to stab each other, and they ain’t using Cupid’s arrow. A lot could probably be accomplished through simple peer mediation. Sit these three down at a table and everyone hashes things out with their words....

Not bad at all! A Realm Reborn running on Surface at TGS

This has me thinking… Check out this short clip I filmed at Tokyo Game Show. It comes from a small area of Microsoft’s booth where they’re showing some popular games running on Surface units. While it’s not exactly smooth, I’m surprised at how well thisFinal Fantasy XIV: A Realm Rebornbenchmark looks on Surface. At 1280 x 720 this looks to be coming in at a decent rate. The quality looks to be running at mid-level, so I’d guess that it would be smooth at a lower one....

Okay,Mario Kartgamers. We’ve had a few days now to digestMario Kart Worldand all it has to offer. How are we feeling? I love the game. Project CARS 2 is coming at the king, it best not miss

Watch the throne Over the course of all the E3 appointments I’ve attended in my six years covering the show, I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone place equal emphasis on their gameandwhy it’s better than the competition.Project CARS 2creative director Andy Tudor did this. It was half sales pitch and half obnoxious truthering. After thinking about it for a bit, I can’t say I blame him. “The first truth is that we still have the largest track roster of any console racing game,” Tudor started out....
