Impressions: Halo 4: Champions Bundle

Three packs in one Halo 4has sort of dwindled, despite the fact that I still queue up on occasion and heartily enjoy it. After three map packs that have ranged from “meh,” to “great,” theChampions Bundlecame out of nowhere outside of the Season Pass, offering up three pieces of individual DLC. Although the bundle may net hardcore fans a few extras, you’d probably be better off just buying the two new stages and calling it a day....

July Jubilee Bundle has Oniken, Puzzle Agent, and more

With such frequent sales, it’s getting challenging for game makers to put together bundles that aren’t almost entirely made up of titles we own already. (Not that I’m complaining!) The July Jubilee Bundle fromthe Indie Royale folksis highly appealing to me personally, as it’s got indies that have been less prominently featured but are still worth playing. For a small handful of wrinkled cash, you can grabPuzzle Agent, the five-gameGeneforge Saga,Oniken,Mutant Storm Reloaded,Swift*Stitch, andUnepic....

Killzone 2 developers pull a fast one (again): Admit touching up screenshots

If you thought thatKillzone 2had been looking too good to be true, then it’s quite possible you were correct in your assumption. Developer Guerillahas admittedthat the last batch of screenshots had been “touched up” to make them look better than they actually were. Bad form, you dirty boys. Bad, bad form. Guerilla’s Seb Downie made the confession on the official PS3 forums, trying to justify the misleading promotional material by saying the enhancements were only small:...

New Bionic Commando game: reach out and touch something

We have to give a whole bag of propers to the huge number of people who sent in tips regardingGamespot’s revelationof a newBionic Commandotitle coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Hit the jump for words! The original title was a highly underrated gem combining equal parts action, platforming and ingenious gimmicks, the most obvious of which is the commando’s eponymous extendable arm. Using the mechanical arm allowed players to attach themselves to bits of scenery, swing around like some kind of ‘spider man’ and attain the lofty sex appeal once reserved for Col....

New Silent Hill V details

I’ve been being a surly gal the past couple days, pouting stiffly at all the preview hysteria and the barrage of announcements out of E3. That’s mostly because I’m jealous I’m stuck here in New York with no air conditioning, but it’s also because I don’t like to get too excited about stuff I’m not going to actually be able toplayuntil God-knows-when. I hate teaser-trailers. Unless said teaser trailer features a red cult seal and the words “Silent Hill V....

Nintendo UK talks DSi holiday storm, DSi firmware updates

I can appreciate that Nintendo feels pretty confident that their new DSi system, coming to the US in April, will sell out come the end of the year. But it also sounds kind of overconfident to me. Of course, they’re still selling like crazy in Japan, and their other two systems here are, too. There’s no stopping Nintendo, I guess. In an interview withTimesOnline, Nintendo UK general manager David Yarnton says that buying early will save you this holiday:...
